Cavaliers Sign Minix to Two-Way Contract

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Riley Minix to a Two-Way contract, Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman announced today.
Minix (6-7, 230) has appeared in 12 games (all starts) this season with the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ exclusively owned and operated NBA G League affiliate, averaging 19.3 points (.556 FG%, .457 3FG%), 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 31.6 minutes per contest. He was acquired by the Charge on January 12th after his rights were sent to Cleveland in a three-team trade with the Austin Spurs and Westchester Knicks. In 11 games (all starts) with Austin prior to the trade, he averaged 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 33.1 minutes. Since being acquired by the Charge, he has produced multiple 20-point outings, including a 27-point performance on 6-10 (.600) shooting from the three-point line in a win over Raptors 905 on February 12th.
Undrafted in 2024, Minix previously signed a Two-Way contract with the San Antonio Spurs on October 19th, 2024 and has appeared in four career regular season NBA games with San Antonio. He also played in 19 games (all starts) with the Austin Spurs last season and has appeared in 42 total G League games (all starts) over his career, averaging 18.3 points (.519 FG%, .422 3FG%), 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.0 minutes. A native of Florida, Minix played one collegiate season at Morehead State (2023-24), where he was named OVC Player of the Year in 2024. He transferred to Morehead State after four seasons at Southeastern in the NAIA.
Minix is now the third Two-Way player on the Cavaliers roster, joining Tristan Enaruna and Emanuel Miller.
