Charge Defeated in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Cleveland Charge (6-3) were defeated by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (4-2), 143-101, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday afternoon. 

Nate Hinton led the Charge in scoring with 25 points on 11-of-23 from the field with eight rebounds and three blocks in 42 minutes.  Sam Merrill scored 21 points on 5-of-9 from three-point range with two steals in 42 minutes.  Jamorko Pickett scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 34 minutes and Sharife Cooper added 11 points, nine assists and two steals in 30 minutes. 

Fort Wayne began the game on a 21-3 run to build a lead they would never relinquish.  Cleveland got within five at 32-27 late in the first quarter, but the Mad Ants were able to keep the visitors at bay by closing the period on a 10-0 run and go up by double digits for the rest of the game. Indiana Pacers assignment Terry Taylor scored 32 points on 13-of-20 shooting and grabbed six rebounds in 30 minutes of play.  Gabe York added 32 points and a pair of steals in 33 minutes.  Kendall Brown posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 boards with three steals in 23 minutes for Fort Wayne.
