Charge Drop Sixth Straight

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (1-8) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, lost their sixth consecutive game after a 98-82 defeat at the hands of the Grand Rapids Gold (7-4) on Saturday night.

Cleveland’s R.J. Nembhard scored a game-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting with seven rebounds in 38 minutes.  Tre Scott posted his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds in 41 minutes.  Kevin Pangos added eight points, six rebounds and eight assists in 35 minutes while on assignment from the Cavaliers.  Malik Newman and Jawun Evans contributed 16 and 10 points each respectively, off the bench.

All five Gold starters scored in double figures, led by Petr Cornelle’s double-double of 17 points and 18 boards with two blocks in 37 minutes.  Nik Stauskas scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished seven assists in 37 minutes.  Trevon Duval scored 17 points and Marcus Burk added 16 points.

The Charge paid homage to a Cleveland classic tonight with Bertman Original Ballpark Mustard inspired jerseys. The jerseys are still available for auction HERE with proceeds benefitting the Cavaliers Youth Foundation.
