Charge Fall in Conference Semifinals

UNIONDALE, NY – The Cleveland Charge dropped a hard-fought contest, 111-107, against the top-seeded Long Island Nets to bring an end to the 2022-23 campaign on Friday afternoon. The Charge finished the year with an 18-14 regular season record, winning their first playoff game since the 2015-16 season and making their first postseason appearance since 2017.   

Down by as much as 17 with 10 minutes left in the final frame, the Charge began to chip away at the lead with a 9-0 run at the 4:40 mark brought the Cleveland within one. with just over three minutes remaining. The teams rallied back and forth over the final stretch of the game, but the Nets held on for the victory.

Isaiah Mobley delivered a career-high 34 points with 11 rebounds for the double-double, with two blocks in 41 minutes of action. Sharife Cooper followed with 22 points and seven assists, with the pair recording a combined 25 points in the fourth quarter as part of that final push. Chandler Vaudrin was a spark off the bench, tallying 16 points and three steals in 27 minutes. 

Long Island was led by RaiQuan Gray with 25 points and seven rebounds in 35 minutes of action. Dru Smith came off the bench for 19 points and seven boards, while Chris Chiozza recorded 16 points and a game-high 11 assists.
