Charge Outlast Swarm

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (7-7) bested the Greensboro Swarm (4-9), 119-118, in front of 2,237 at the Wolstein Center on Wednesday night.  Isaiah Mobley drove down the lane and flushed a right-handed dunk with 0.3 seconds left to put the Charge up for the win.

Aleem Ford led Cleveland in scoring off the bench with 24 points on 6-of-9 from three-point range in 36 minutes.  Zhaire Smith scored 22 points on 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from three with nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 37 minutes.  Emoni Bates scored 18 points, while Mobley finished with 14 points, and six boards.  Sharife Cooper finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals in 34 minutes.

Jaylen Sims led the Swarm with 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting with three steals in 29 minutes.  R.J. Hunter scored 21 points and nabbed four steals in 31 minutes.  Kent Bazemore came off the bench to score 21 for Greensboro in 26 minutes of play. 

Cleveland has now won 10 games in a row versus Greensboro, having not lost a matchup between the two teams since the 2018-19 season.

The Cleveland Charge will host the defending NBA G League Champion Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia 76ers) for a pair of contests this upcoming weekend. Our annual Salute to Service game tips off on Friday, February 2nd at 7:00 p.m. and the weekend is capped off (pun intended) with Marvel Super Hero Night – Captain America presented by Immaculate Cleaning on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Wolstein Center.
