CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (9-4) improved their perfect home record to 6-0 in a 109-107 victory over the Windy City Bulls (6-4) at the Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center on Monday night.
A Sharife Cooper free-throw with 44.7 seconds left gave Cleveland a 107-96 lead before the visitors rolled off a 9-0 run to pull within 107-105. The Charge turned the ball over on the ensuing possession to give the Bulls a chance to tie, but Carlick Jones was forced into a tough layup attempt that didn’t fall through. Cooper and Isaiah Mobley each split a pair of free throws on Cleveland’s next two possessions surrounding a Kostas Antetokounmpo bucket that was just enough to keep Windy City at bay.
Cooper finished with 28 points, nine assists and two steals in 42 minutes. Jamorko Pickett posted his sixth double-double of the season by scoring 28 points and grabbing 10 boards with two steals and three blocks in 43 minutes. Isaiah Mobley notched his fourth double-double by scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in 40 minutes. Nate Hinton added 11 points and three blocks in 38 minutes.
Jones led the Bulls with 22 points on 9-of-21 from the field in 35 minutes. Antetokounmpo finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in 37 minutes on assignment from Chicago. Malcolm Hill scored 20 points and pulled down six rebounds in 29 minutes. Javon Freeman-Liberty was a spark off the bench with 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes.
The homestand continues with a visit from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers) on Wednesday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m. - Tickets start at just $5! Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+ or listen to the action live on NEO Sports Radio on the iHeartRadio mobile app.
