Charge Swept in Maine

PORTLAND, ME – The Cleveland Charge (9-8) dropped their sixth-straight game in a 116-105 defeat at the hands of the Maine Celtics (13-7) on Saturday night at the Portland Expo.
Acquired from the available player pool earlier today, Blake Francis marked his Charge debut with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-14 from the field with five assists and two steals in 35 minutes off the bench. Rashad Vaughn scored a season-best 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting with six rebounds in 32 minutes of relief. Nate Hinton scored 19 points in 36 minutes for the shorthanded Charge who had eight players for tonight’s game.
All five Maine starters scored in double figures, led by Marial Shayok’s 20 points, six assists and two steals in 34 minutes. Luka Samanic added 19 points, while Denzel Valentine & Kamar Baldwin each scored 17 points for the Celtics. Maine took a 3-2 lead with 10:12 left in the first quarter and led the rest of the way.
The Charge will host a pair of games before the All-Star break beginning with a matchup against the Wisconsin Herd on Tuesday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m. Fans can click here to get their tickets for all the action!
