Charge Trio Lead Comeback Win

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (1-0) overcame a 23-point deficit to defeat the Long Island Nets (0-2), 123-122, in front of 4,038 at the Wolstein Center on Friday night. The win begins the 34-game NBA G League regular season for the Charge.
The Charge were led by the trio of Emoni Bates, Sharife Cooper and Isaiah Mobley, who combined for 95 of the team’s 123 points in the game. Cooper scored 36 points and dished out 14 assists with three steals in 46 minutes. Mobley posted a double-double of 31 points and 14 boards with two blocks in 39 minutes. Bates scored 28 points on 8-of-17 from three-point range in 35 minutes. Zhaire Smith added 14 points and eight rebounds in 39 minutes. The Charge were down 48-29 after the first quarter and 54-31 early in the second before chipping away to get back in the game.
The Nets were paced by Brooklyn assignment Noah Clowney’s 25 points and seven rebounds with three blocks in 34 minutes. Kennedy Chandler scored 20 points and dished four assists in 36 minutes. Kyler Edwards scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 34 minutes.
