With Labor Day now in the rearview mirror and summer rapidly coming to a close and with Fall soon to follow, basketball season is soon to follow. And while yours truly is most definitely a summer-time type of fellow through and through, all is not lost. You see, with winter months comes Cleveland Charge basketball, and with the season rapidly approaching I am thrilled to (finally!) give you the Cleveland Charge 2024/2025 season schedule!

Season number 4 for the Wine and Gold in Cleveland tips off at home (the fourth straight season starting on the home court) with back-to-back afternoon games on November 9th and 10th when they host the Indiana Mad Ants as part of the newly named Tip-Off Tournament portion of the schedule. If you recall, this is the first 14 games of the season which lead into the Winter Showcase.

First road game? Well, that’ll be another back-to-back in Sioux Falls against the Skyforce on Thursday and Friday of opening week. Speaking of back-to-backs, get used to them as there are 12 throughout the season.

The month of November wraps with only one more home game, Tuesday the 19th vs. Windy City before finishing with three road games, two at Motor City and one in Grand Rapids wrapped around Thanksgiving.

December shows 11 games (two of which will be during the Winter Showcase) six at home and five away, with three back-to-backs, highlighted by a double-up with the South Bay Lakers at home on the 27th and 28th during the holiday season. A 2pm road contest at Greensboro wraps up 2024, so it’ll be a team celebration that night for sure! It also opens the longest trip of the season, a four game, 10-day excursion that includes a 2nd meeting with the Swarm before finishing up in DC against the Go-Go on January 5th and 7th.

Three more back-to-backs, including two at home, highlight the remainder of January with double dips vs. Grand Rapids and Motor City with road contests at Delaware.

Two games at Rio Grande Valley open-up February before a back-to-back at home vs. Westchester, followed by two games north-of-the border in Canada against the Raptors 905 (yes, my passport is up to date). Wrapping up February will be two more in Grand Rapids (two more at the Gold you ask? Yep, along with three in Motor City, lots of bus rides this season…)

The final month of the regular season is highlighted by six home games, including the first ever meeting with the Rip City Remix, back for their second season in the G. Unfortunately, like last season, the Charge will once again wrap the season on the road with two in Long Island against the Nets on the 28th and 29th.

So, to break it down a little more for you, the Charge will play 29 weekend games, 10 Fridays, 5 home and 5 away. 12 Saturday games, 8 home, 4 away and 7 Sunday games, 4 home and 3 away. Good looking home schedule for those of you jonesing to get to a Charge game this season.

The Charge play Grand Rapids 6 times, the most of any opponent followed closely by Motor City, a team they will battle 5 times.

The annual December Winter Showcase will once again consist of two games from 12/19-12/22 leading into the holiday break. And if you’re wondering when the team gets a breather, the final game before the All-Star break is Thursday, February 13th at the 905, with the break itself running from 2/14-2/20, with the good guys returning to action Saturday the 22nd vs. Birmingham in the first of two in a row at home against the Squadron.

The busiest months of the season are both December and January when the Charge play 11 games, while they suit up only 8 times in November for their “easiest” portion of the slate.

And to keep you abreast of all things G League, the league has added one new team, welcoming in the Valley Suns, the G League affiliate of the Phoenix Suns, while the former Ontario Clippers have moved down the road and re-branded as the San Diego Clippers.

So, there you have it, a quick glimpse of what’s to come for the Charge this season. I can’t wait to get started, and I hope to see you at a Charge home game this season. And be sure to stay connected to @chargeCLE on social media or the Cavs mobile app for all the ways you can watch and listen to the Charge all season long.
