ZMan's Blog: Schedule Release

By Cleveland Charge Staff /September 6, 2023

Well, the calendar has flipped, summer is soon to be in the rearview mirror, and winter winds will be here before you know it. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the Cleveland Charge 2023/2024 season schedule has dropped (that’s what the kids say, right?) and I’m here to give you a deep dive of what you can expect!

It's season number 3 for the Wine and Gold in Cleveland, and if this season ends up anything like last years’ 30 win, 2 playoff game season, we’re in for a heck of a fun run.

So, for your viewing pleasure, let’s breakdown the upcoming schedule in all its glory. The good, the bad and everything in-between. I give to you, the Cleveland Charge 2023 /2024 season schedule preview:

For starters, the Charge begin the season on Friday, November 10th at home against the Wisconsin Herd. As a matter of fact, the Charge and Herd open the season with 2 games at the Wolstein Center, Friday and Sunday.

First road game? That will be Tuesday the 14th at Sioux Falls, the first of two trips to one of the coldest cities on the continent.

The Charge will play 17 home weekend games (YES!), up from just 10 a year ago: 7 on Friday, 6 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. The longest homestand includes 5 games and runs from 3/3-3/17 while the longest road trip is a 10 day-er, from 1/19-1/28, part of a stretch of 7 straight games away from home.

There are 8 back to backs, including 2 at the Wolstein Center, 5 on the road and 1 home-road set.

In an effort to cut down on travel, there will be 14 occasions where the Charge play the same opponent in back-to-back games, half of those coming at home.

The Charge play both the Windy City Bulls and Grand Rapids Gold 4 times, which is the most of any opponent.

The annual December NBA G League Winter Showcase will take place 12/19-12/22, again leading into the holiday break.

And if you’re wondering when the team gets a breather, the final game before the All-Star break is Wednesday, February 14th at Grand Rapids, while the break itself runs from 2/16-2/21, with the good guys returning to action Friday the 23rd vs. the Capital City Go-Go in the first of two straight between the teams.

The busiest months of the season are both January and March when the Charge play 12 games, while they suit up only 8 times in both November and February.

The Charge play 2 games at the INDIANA Mad Ants, as the former team from Ft. Wayne has begun its relocation and re-brand, while the former Lakeland Magic have moved to Kissimmee, becoming the Osceola Magic. The Charge will also play their first ever games against the Birmingham Squadron, including the final game of the regular season on Saturday, March 30th   while the Santa Cruz Warriors make their long awaited, first ever trip to northeast Ohio on Saturday, January 6th. The final home game of the slate is Wednesday, March 27th vs. Windy City.

So, there you have it, a quick glimpse of what’s to come for the Charge this season. I can’t wait to get started, and I hope to see you at the Wolstein Center, but if you can’t make it in person, don’t forget you can hear me call 50 games on the Cleveland Charge mobile app!!
